Yakima, Seattle, Wolfgang Puck

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

I’m off to Yakima, WA for a product installation.  I’m happy to go onsite to see our customers use our software, but it always sucks to be away from the family for more than just a couple of days.

The good news is that I ave a break in my schedule, so I’ll make a side trip to see my buddy in Seattle and get some photographic evidence of my “world traveler status.”

Visiting Seattle

I just went through security at our local International Airport, and I marvel at how much we have grown used to the draconian interrogations.  I’m not complaining; I am just communicating my astonishment.

The 6:00am flight meant that I had to get up at 4am, shower, wolf down a Hot Pocket, drive to the airport, etc.  No time to grab a coffee on the way, so I decided to get a cup at the airport.  The coffee shop wasn’t open yet, so I opted for the gourmet vending machine coffee.

imageThat clever little vending machine at the airport is not fooling anyone; Wolfgang Puck did not hand-make my cup of Caramel Frappaccino BlahbityBlah for $1.25… regardless of what the full-sized image on the front of the machine would have you believe.

Normally, I am the first to understand it, but the second to try it.  Such is my life, standing in the shadow observing the coolness, but not willing to risk my own pride by risking embarrassment or failure.

My YouTube inhibitions ended recently.  See for YourSelf.  Here is some video that I shot from my $125 Fujitsu camera while in Seattle with my friend Mike Cleveland.  Enjoy!
